It is therefore an essential part of your care, with our aim being to empower you with the right knowledge and skills so that you can manage your condition in the long term and decrease your chance of the same problem/injury recurring in the future.
Many patients, having suffered an injury such as sports injuries or maybe a lower back injury, are fearful that exercising the painful area will make the pain worse. Unfortunately, in many cases this avoidance of exercise is the very reason why the injury has never fully recovered in the first place. Our physiotherapists are injury and exercise experts and are able to safely guide you through an exercise program specifically designed to suit your particular injury needs.
How Does Exercise Rehabilitauion Work?
In order for us to get you back pain-free as quickly and effectively as possible, your rehabilitation may include a combination of hands-on techniques such as mobilisation, massage and acupuncture, together with a specifically designed exercise programme which could include stretching and strengthening exercises, Pilates, postural re-training, and cardio-vascular endurance and fitness.
At New Age Sydney Physiotherapy clinics we have a fully-equipped, custom-made rehabilitation gym with all the very latest technology and equipment. This includes:

- Exercise Bike
- TOG GaitScan System – a uniquely designed force plate which enables us to give detailed information on your biomechanics and walking style.
- Dual Adjustable Cable Resistance Machine
- Free Weights
- Specific exercise equipment including physio balls, foam rolls, wobble boards, trampette, balance discs.
Where Can I find Exercise Rehabilitation ?
Once you have been assessed by one our Physiotherapists you have the privilege to use the Rehabilitation Gym independently anytime during clinic hours. Only active New Age Physiotherapy patients can use the gym, so you can be certain to have all the equipment and space readily available for your use. With our Physiotherapists and Personal Trainers on-hand, you can get help and support if you need it.
You will need to book each gym session in advance – each session can be of any duration within our opening hours.
At New Age Physiotherapy, we encourage you to self-manage your condition which is why we have set the cost of using the gym independently. We can also co-ordinate doing your exercise rehabilitation at your local gyms (Whitlam Centre, Liverpool Catholic Club, Squashland Liverpool, CrossRoads Gym)
